2008 AMIA Conference
SummitDay Media staff again participated in the Association of Moving Image Archivists' international conference, held this year in sunny Savannah, Georgia. Pictured are the members of the 4th place "trivia challenge" team (we have fun too, you know!).

2008 Northwest Archivists Conference
SummitDay Media was a major sponsor of the 2008 gathering of Northwest Archivists in Anchorage. NWA is a professional association comprised of archivists and others in related fields from the Pacific Northwest, and registration surpassed 80 individuals for this event. The meet was held in conjunction with the greater Anchorage chapter of ARMA International, an information management professional association.
UCLA student discussion
Bob Curtis-Johnson met with students in the UCLA Moving Image Archiving program in April, discussing the ins and outs of the a/v media consulting field.
Vault improvements
February 2008 saw the installation of true linseed-oil (non-outgassing) Linoleum flooring and the necessary racks, refrigeration and cabinetry. We'll be ready to receive new client collections by early April.

SummitDay Media recently completed assessment and planning projects for the Pratt Museum in Homer, Alaska and the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, and welcomes new employee Jill Galbraith, who is assisting clients with archival services.

An important Alaskan documentary was named to the Library of Congress' National Film Registry on December 27th. "Uksuum Cauyai" (The Drums of Winter) (1988) was listed along with other works selected to be preserved as part of our national heritage.
